This project aims to underline the human need for longterm co-existence with our natural environment. The egg is a symbol for the root of life, and creation itself. 

The egglamp is made from an actual unfertilized egg from South Africa. The egg's contents are used for cooking, nothing is wasted.

Beautiful transitioning from opaque, ceramic-like materiality to a sensual translucent texture with increasing light intensity.

The eggshell is giving the light-cast a comfortable warm glow.

At full intensity, the light emitted from the lamp creates a unique golden vibrant atmosphere.

Multi-function plug serves as: insulator, mechanical connector, light-guide, thermal outlet, socket holder.

Custom-developed egg-marking station to assist with processing uncut eggs (each is a slightly different size).

Early prototype tooling to create silicone connector part.

Finalized 3-part mold for the latest revision connector part.
